no. Italian greyhounds are the smallest of the thee greyhounds.Whippets are a bit larger and then these guys, regular ol’ greyhounds, are the largest.

Black Wolf Soul, you’re the one who’s pathetic. It’s obviously spelled right on the van. Pay attention next time, and you won’t come off as a moron once again.

It’s a great org. Please don’t try to volunteer. Your kind isn’t needed.

If you want the best dog you could ever adopt, look at a Greyhound!! They are the sweetest most loving dog that still is around after all we have done to them. They have kept man company for over a thousand years and yet few people know what a wonderful, loving, dog they are. Do some research, You will fall in love!!

    how sad for you……..

you are so right. we have two and if we had more space we would have more of them. they are the sweetest dogs who want nothing more than to eat, sleep and be petted; these two are greyt with our cats and with the occasional visiting child. the greyhound rescue folks are awesome.

  • dubseller says:

i got 2 retired greys and they are the most grateful animals I have ever had… so respectful and calm. NOBLE would be the word I choose!

  • cbrucker says:

I’ve had greys for a number of years, and encourage anybody considering pet adoption to find a meet n’ greet in their area or contact a local Grey adoption organization.

As the clip said, there are dogs, and then there are greyhounds. They’re a breed, if not species of their own…and to watch a retired runner do what he or she did as a racer strictly for fun will bring tears to your eyes!

When I was about 5, my family was having a little trouble with money. I had wanted a dog since I was 1. I had went to my friends house and they had a greyhound that was just amazing. I asked my mom if I could have a dog, but ofcourse she said, “Honey, if I had enough money I would get you a dog right this second, but I don’t.” The next day was my sister’s birthday. And if it weren’t for my sisters birthday, I wouldn’t have the love of my life. We went to the pet store to buy my sister a ferret.

  • bffiscourtney says:

And then I heard little barking. I ran away from the ferrets and saw the love of my life. A little Italian Greyhound about 2 months old. I walked up to the lady and asked her where she was bringing the pup. She said that no one wanted to adopt the puppy so they had to give it a tiny little pinch of a shot and it would live a happy afterlife. I didn’t understand at first, but then tears came to my eyes. I asked her that if I adopt her, will she not die? The lady said the dog is 300 dollars

  • bffiscourtney says:

but then she inturrupted and said that since I had a very blessful soul, that she would give it to me for free. I hugged that lady and wouldn’t let go. She handed me the pup and a just stood there. My mom came over and said come on, we have to go. Don’t even ask if we can buy the dog we just don’t have enough money. The lady said, “maa’m I am giving your daughter this pup for free.” My mom stood there and came over to me. She said are you sure you want this dog? I kissed the dog

ad ran out of the door. My dog is still living and his name is Rocco. I love him still and he is the best part of my life.

My husband and I adopted our first greyhound Enzo is January 2008. I had never had a greyhound before and Enzo was only my 2nd dog. From the first moment I saw him I fell in love with him. We were worried that the first night he would be scared and restless, but as soon as the volunteers from Greyhound Rescue left our house he went to lay down and his bed as if he had lived with us his whole life. He has been such a blessing in our life. I love him bunches!!!
