Thanks for the kind words about Greyhounds. They are wonderful companions for sure.

good on you mate.hopefully more people will take them on

Hiya, I got convinced about two months ago, now we’re just waiting for Liz to arrive to us. Actually, we’re looking for having her around so much! Take care

  • LawnDarts1 says:

Thanks for your comments. I know they’re treated better in other countries, but here in the US, it’s terrible. They’re shutting down tracks like crazy due to animal rights violations. We’ve adopted an AWESOME greyhound as a result. From now on, it’s only greys for our family.

good on you, some great words. i believe in everything you just said. Soemtimes i see the greyhound retired dogs so next time i will definantly give money

  • Omega45889 says:

    Props to you man.

  • Waychel says:

You’re right, they are such gentle and sweet creatures. Seeing statistics like those in the Greyhound rescue video just breaks your heart. Here in the US, we use Greyhounds for sport, and simply discard them when their racing careers are over. They are treated as if they are a material object and not a living, breathing animal! I hope that videos like these on YouTube will promote awareness of Greyhound adoption.

Very nicely put – well said Sir!

  • Jestafunk says:

weel done! good to know there are lots of people that CARES on animals

  • coachgrieber says:

LawnDarts wouldnt know his/her arse from a hole in the ground. The reason tracks are closing IS NOT for “animal rights violations”… it’s pure economics. While I’m pleased they’ve learned how wonderful greyhounds are as pets, I really wish people would do their own research before spewing such ignorant crap.

  • LawnDarts1 says:

I’m assuming by the weirdly defensive stance you’ve taken that you have some stake in Greyhound racing, yes? The reason tracks are closing is because people aren’t patronizing them anymore. Hmmm… could that be because people are finding out how horribly the animals have been treated over the years? Connect the dots, moron.

  • coachgrieber says:

We can continue this game, MORON, but, you’ve simply got your “facts” misaligned. People are not frequenting tracks due to the fact that there are other gambling opportunities out there that don’t require any skill as does racing handicapping. Like I said, do your homework and quit being a shill for PETA, Grey2k and HSUS, idiot.

  • kainsshiva says:

The tracks are closing because of lack of money. The dogs are not treated horribly in the US I am a trainer and my dogs live better than most people do.

  • grr8hound says:

they might not be treated horrible in your mind. but racing for profit is inhumane. I’ve seen WAY to many greyhounds come off the track injured, sometimes severely. I’ve seen my share of injuries. My grey has a few scars on him. And most greys I see have scars or very badly injured lame legs. So dont tell me they arent treated bad. It should be illegal to race dogs. its just as inhumane as fighting them, and all the same to me.

  • jmc337kc says:

    Wonderful wonderful wonderful.

I work at a greyhound rescue in Missouri and these dogs are just unbelievably sweet and beautiful. You could not ask for better pets.
