These dogs were rescued from a Mexican Racetrack by Greyhound Pets of America/fastfriends.....Every semester the RVT students at Mount San Antonio College play a part in the rehabilitation process so they can be fostered and hopefully adopted. We only get about 16 per semester to save. These animals you are seeing would most certainly have been killed.

RTE NATIONWIDE FEATURE ON IRISH GREYHOUNDS RESCUED BY PAWS ANIMAL RESCUE, MULLINAHONE CO, TIPPERARY AND THEIR TRANSPORT TO PRAGUE. THESE DOGS WERE DUE TO BE PUT TO SLEEP BUT NOW LIVE IN HOMES AS PETS THANKS TO MOTHER AND DAUGHTER DEIRDRE AND GINA HETHERINGTON AND ALL THEIR HELPERS.

Paw for Paw, Greyhounds are clearly the fastest canines around. Bred to chase, these lanky dogs can reach speeds of up to 45 miles per hour for short distances. But when their days on the race track are over, thousands of these dogs typically end up with no place to go. One group in Oswego is working to help find homes for these former athletes, who quickly learn to love a more leisurely kind of lifestyle.
