For over ten years, Tia Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue has been committed to rescuing and re-homing stray, abandoned and ex-racing greyhounds and lurchers. Here are just a few of the dogs currently available, they are constantly coming in and are ...

most of these dogs could find good working homes as rabbit dogs, or preban as fox or hare dogs

ive had my lurcher for 6 years. you wont find a friendlier breed. 1 or 2 medium to short walks and they sleeping like cats. lots of character. eat anything.

Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply! There’s some gorgeous dogs in Tia at the moment, if you could spare the time to come up and see them… *hem*
Tia don’t do home inspections so the adoption is down to whether Debra thinks you are a good match for the dog. There’s a fantastic looking boy whose currently in a fost home, he’s called Old Ted (I think), greyhound x great dane. FANTASTIC looking guy!

Bonnie has just joined our pack from GALR and is delightful. She may be 10 but is amazing in the agility ring! I am a sucker for a lurcher and am already considering no 4.

Me and my partner visited Tia at the weekend. They are such beautiful dogs, the cruelty behind greyhound racing is barbaric and something must be done about it. I am hoping to adopt a greyhound very soon.

We have a Lurcher from Battersea and he is perfect! He sleeps all day and even has little chats with us. He isn’t a big lurcher, so hes the perfect size. I love him!

I rescued a lovely Lurcher from Tia rescue in Yorkshire.
My Lurcher has made my life such a joy.
Tia rescue is such a cool caring place. The Greyhounds and Lurchers are so fortunate to have such a loving caring rescue place like Tias. More people should have a look at their website and rescue a dog from Tia..

I have a rescue lurcher muttley, I’m 13 but I understand how much these dogs need us. Muttley is the best dog ever and I love him to bits! I’m so hapy that these dogs are being cared for properly. But if people could see what a brill breed of dog this is then they’d all get homes cos if u give these dogs a chance, they are incredible! Because lurchers aren’t a “full dog” as the people from crufts call them, they don’t get the right attention. please, give these dogs a chance, they make gr8 pets!

  • evolk8 says:

I know it’s amazing! My lurcher muttley, sometimes, if he can, he escapes from the house to go and see this wee girl connie down our street, he loves her to bits! And my four year old cousin hannah, when she wants to pat him, he lies down so she can tickle his tummy! Also, if he comes across a cat, he ends up hiding behind me cos it scratched his nose! (although the cats in my neighbourhood are pretty scary!) He wouldnt hurt a fly! They make great kids dogs!

I’ve had my lurcher (Dee Dee) since she was 8 weeks old and now she’s just over 9 months and out of all the dogs i’ve grown up with, she’s the most loving, well behaved dog ive ever known, even though she does get excited around new people and cries when i leave her but shes a puppy. what do you expect. I’d adopt them all if i could. x

  • LensGirl1990 says:

My Dee Dee is 1 year old today and she is my best friend :) I cant believe there are so many dogs like this with out families, she looks exactly like Brair :) x
